How does a chemical air scrubber work?

Strocon Agro's chemical air scrubbers provide a 95% reduction in ammonia emissions. Ammonia emissions are reduced by treating the ventilation air in a chemical air scrubber system. The contaminated air passes through a filter unit, which is continuously humidified with an acidified washing liquid. This washing liquid removes the ammonia from the contaminated air as the ammonia is bound to ammonium sulfate by the addition of sulfuric acid. This substance is then discharged with the effluent. The clean air leaves the system through the droplet traps.
